Pongal also known as Poṅkal and Tai Pongal is from January 15 to 18th. Pongal is a harvest-festival in South India. It is known as Tai Pongal because it starts of in the month of Tai(January). These four days they thank the Sun God for agricultural abundence.
On these days Feasting, the act of gift-giving, decorations along streets, parks, and in houses are obsereved. People invite others to their house and feed them a special Pongal dish.
